Purchase of a puppy
The pup of a St.Bernard is the most seductive pup to buy. It is such a
sweet globule wool, it is just a teddy bear. The children want the
puppy so badly and you yourself also can not resist the temptation.
"All right!, is said, 2 we will do it for the children. Then they will
have a playmate." This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.
Only if you and your partner stand behind the purchase of a puppy
you have the right basis to purchase a puppy. If you buy a dog you
have to be sure you have the time and the attention for the dog.
It is also very important that you have the capacity for a St.Bernard.
Often enough we experience that people are dragged by the story
mentioned above. It would be a shame for a St.Bernard to make a
journey to the new owners and then from the new owners to a dog´s
home or a replacing address. Often it is something people do not
want, but they do not have another choice for what reason.
The following points can help you with the decision of a potential
purchase of a puppy:

* the costs of a purchase
* family situation
* capacity
* annual returning costs
* nutrition
Character and qualitites do not only depend on the father or the
mother, but also what has been done with the puppy from birth up to
and including the eighth week. What did the puppy see, hear and went
through between the most important 3 and 8 weeks of age.

Another important issue is hip dysplasia. Hip dysplasia can hardly be
diagnosed when the dog is a puppy. Usually around the age of a year
hip dysplasia can be diagnosed. There is not guarantee that a puppy
will be hip dysplasia free when both of his/her parents are hip
dysplasia free. through bad nutrition, overweight and huge efforts
especially as a puppy the chance of hip dysplasia is present.
